It’s after Labor Day, which means summer is really coming to a close. With only a short time before the Autumnal Equinox take this last weekend of of summer and make the most of it!
- Have a picnic: Before it starts getting dark at 5 pm and you have to worry about carrying a jacket at night, bring your friends together for one last picnic before the season changes for good!
- Get in the water: Whether you take a boat ride around the city or soak up sun on the beach, don’t miss out on the last few days where you can wear a bathing suit outside without freezing your tushy off.
- Try something new: Summer is all about new experiences, be it in love or life, scratch one thing off your bucket list and make some memories you’ll never forget
- Go for a run: Just because summers over doesn’t mean you don’t have to stop trying to get in shape and stay healthy. Find a workout class or buddy that will keep you moving through the winter months so you won’t have to scramble to get off those last few pounds from Thanksgiving.
- Travel: Take a vacation, even if it’s just for a weekend, to squeeze those last few drops out of summer wanderlust that’ll tide you over until next year.
- Have a stoop sale: Starting a new season is similar to a new year, you should try and purge all that baggage you’ve accumulated over the last year.
- Eat your weight in summer fruits and veggies: There’s no shame in devouring an entire watermelon or a few ears of corn, head to your local CSA or organic section of your supermarket to load up on your favorite produce before they go out of season.
- Find an outdoor movie: Most cities have several chances to watch great movies on a lawn outside, usually for free, grab a date or a few friends and watch a movie under the stars.
- Finish a book: Put down your phone and get off Netflix, head to the beach or a nice park to relax and take a few hours to detox from the technology.
- Eat something fried and delicious: Check to see if there are any local fairs or festivals in your area and indulge on fried festival fare one last time before the summers over. #TreatYoSelf
